Remembering Joya Text

Remembering Joya is currently happening at the National Museum of the Philippines from June 8- August 7.

This is in celebration of his 85th birth anniversary. The admission to the National Museum is now free of charge.

My morning was not about remembering Joya but discovering and getting to know the works of a great national artist, Jose T. Joya. (1931-1995)

I’ve come across a couple of  his works while designing and renovating residential projects last year and I loved how it fit perfectly in the interior design.

Seeing more of his works, I realize that truly Jose T. Joya is one of the pillars in Philippine modernism and a master abstract artist.
